		This, first written in Japanese, was issued in Justnet in 1997 year though it was rewritten several times after that. And, it was issued in Nyfty in August 29, 2005, translated into English. 	That morning Miyagi woke up suddenly, feeling a chill. When he opens the eyes thin, the room is still dim considerably. He bent oneself slightly, trying to stop trembling. When he looks at the clock, the fluorescent hands are indicating about 5:30. "Why, is it still such a hour?". Miyagi, when turning oneself to the opposite side while pulling up the blanket, again has shut the eyes and has bent the legs. "But, it still is October, isn't it? Why this cold?". He, when raising oneself suddenly, opened the curtains hung to the window nimbly. When it peeps at the sight through the window, the streets still dim look to be strangely quiet and whitish. When it notices suddenly, countless white crystals very small were falling from the cloudy sky slowly with the transient feeling. It is snow. Miyagi, caught to that sight before noticing, kept on looking at the dance of light snow only desultorily in spite of one's trembling, as if it sees the strange thing.
			As a matter of fact, he now is living in Sapporo to defend Kageura from the vengeful god in question, renting a apartment near the house of Kageura. Of course, it always doesn't think the vengeful god in question appears here. It is because Sapporo is distant from Shimane considerably. But, the vengeful god in question never be ordinary ghost. It couldn't assert completely the vengeful god growing one's force rapidly doesn't appear here. Anyhow, it feels today air is cold terribly. Miyagi, when going away from the window, made a fire in the stove. And, it warmed oneself, sitting down by the side of the stove only desultorily for a little while. To tell the truth, he is scheduled to jog a little after. But, since it is too cold, he shrinks from the jogging somehow. "If so, I will prepare my meal.". He, when washing the rice of proper quantity simply, threw it into the rice cooker nimbly and pushed the switch. "But, what do I put into miso soup today?". Since last night, it was to have finished using all the stock of vegetables, it can't be helped at all.
	It doesn't seem the psychic battle in this time gets settled so easily. Though he was preserving the wealth considerably, it was necessary to limit the expenditure at the battle supposed to be continued over long term. "Well, I will accept my fate I stand a poor meal.". Miyagi, when shrugging the shoulders, saying like that, tentatively pulled the door of the cold storage. When it peeps at the inside, There is a little the remains of preserved wakame(a kind of seaweed) in salt. "Oh, I'm lucky!". He, when taking up the wakame at once, shook down the salt with water roughly. And, it threw it in the pot filled with water when putting the pot on the ignited portable cooking stove.
	If the water enough boiled, it puts out the cooking stove at once, after mixing the miso with the hot water of the pot. It doesn't know whether it is a cooking or not. But, if it throws it in the stomach, such a matter is no problem anymore. "But, I want to eat a tasty food once in a while eh!". He murmured like that in a little voice in spite of oneself. Just then, light comes into the room suddenly. When it looks back at the window, morning light beams had reached to the ground through the blue slits of the thick clouds. The mono colored sight takes back the original color colorful rapidly. The light snow like a sherbet on the roofs, slowly melting and slipping, was dropping to the ground frequently. "Oh, I can run in this!". Miyagi, when putting out the cooking stove, hurrying, changed the clothes into the jogging wear from the pajamas.
	About 9:30, Miyagi, when trying to have the breakfast, finishing jogging, got telephone call from Kageura. It says it realized slightly the reason why Cotosiro-nusi now appeared, changing oneself to the vengeful god. Since it is hard to hear the detail in the telephone, Miyagi visited Kageura in the house at once. So, according to Kageura, the reason Cotosiro-nusi now appeared was related to the Japanese history deeply. At the fourth Century, the political system in Japanese Islands the rationalism like Yayoi culture rules was about to reach to one peak when Yamato acquired the supremacy in Kinai. Conversely, the soul of Jomon got pushed to the bottom of mind rapidly. And, the political and mental tendency like that produced the various social standard and rule gradually as time goes on and established the firm institutional system political in Japanese Islands though it often became strong and became weak as a time. Contrary to that, the people having the soul and blood of Jomon people strongly, mixing with the immigrants or Yayoi people one after another, lost the feature of Jomon people physically and mentally rapidly. Apparently it seemed the soul of Jomon and the characteristic form and quality of Jomon people have been buried completely. However, it was only the superficial recognition.
			As a matter of fact, it is that the soul of Jomon was keeping on living in the depths of our mind and body together with the blood of Jomon people. However, why did the soul of Jomon survive in spite of the ceaseless oppression? Unfortunately, Kageura still isn't finding out that reason. He had thought it has to do the reasoning of this problem more deeply. However, the important matters here are that the soul of Jomon involved the deep-rooted curse with keeping being oppressed in ancient time. And, that curse is surviving together with the soul of Jomon even now. So long as the rationalism like Yayoi culture is ruling the present political system, it was natural that the curse like that is inherited by the people. Kageura was thinking this is the true cause Cotosiro-nusi appeared now.
	Today, we are living as the descendant of both the Yayoi people and the Jomon people, physically and mentally. And, our history like that produced the social and mental dual structure putting the political rationalism like Yayoi culture over the soul of Jomon. Furthermore, it is that the thing produced the deep-rooted curse, and kept it until now. Because of that, today, the conflict in between Yayoi culture and jomon culture in the ancient time came to be reflected to all our mind. Probably Cotosiro-nusi, when having tasted the defeat, had predicted the present situation of Japan like that, that is, the thing one's hatred will be produced at the winner's mind. Cotosiro-nusi must have thought to use this historical irony for one's revenge. So, probably he had to wait for all people to inherit the confrontation in between Jomon culture and Yayoi culture, and also two characteristic form and quality into one's mind. Cotosiro-nusi now is trying to wake the sleeping ancient curse in the people's mind like that. If this plan is carried out smoothly, the souls of people filled with horrible contradiction, falling into the terrible mental conflict by oneself, would put the curse on oneself before noticing. And, if it materializes, their soul, torn by the conflict like that, must fall into the ruin soon. That was Cotosiro-nusi's final purpose. Even if it tries to resist against the conflict like that with physical means, it isn't effective at all. It is meaningless at all even if it uses all weapons. That persistently was the mental battle to solve by oneself.
	However, many of people don't know the thing. Therefore, it is that the people, supporting the Japanesque political rationalism in spite of keeping the soul of Jomon before noticing, made the ancient hatred grow up to give off the horrible curse named the curse of Jomon. Thereupon, Cotosiro-nusi sent the vicious insects to this world, now that the blood of Jomon people mixed with the blood of Yayoi people completely. It was the natural course the mind invaded by the insects falls into the horrible mental conflict, getting torn to three parts, that is, the ancient hatred and the soul of Jomon, and the Japanesque rationalism, that is, the rationalism like Yayoi culture. It must be the retributive result for neglecting one's soul of Jomon. The deed to support the Japanesque political rationalism, in spite of the having the soul of Jomon is the denial of oneself originally. And, this conflict between the three mental parts is the decisive inevitable conflict.
	If those mental parts start the battle with each, nobody can stop the mental collapse. And, when many of the individuals' minds collapse, it is that the society also starts to collapse as well. This was the historical schedule inevitable Cotosiro-nusi planned. The political structure of Japan is based on the Japanesque rationalism. And, since it oppresses the soul of Jomon, it was the structure established on the self-alienation. Therefore, many of people fell into the contradiction it is obliged to express oneself under the condition of self-alienation. In that reason, it was natural that the people have the sprout of mental collapse. But, it is certain it is the individuals' problem related to the personal humanity finally. If we are aware of the thing, by any chance it may have been impossible that Cotosiro-nusi makes the plan succeed. However, this problem isn't so simple because it includes the hard problem. If a person without the consistency of thinking perceives one's contradiction carelessly, the mental conflict may come to the surface of the mind in disorder suddenly, make his mental balance collapse. Since many of people know the thing instinctively, it is that they pushed the mental conflict into the bottom of mind, trying to not touch the conflict like that. If so, they, alienating one's own consciousness from the soul of oneself with obeying the Japanesque rationalism, can do nothing else but to concentrate on filling own instinctive desires. That was the only stupid instinct they have for the self-defence. But, their mental tendency like that gives Cotosiro-nusi, not us the terrific advantage. It was because the vicious insects Cotosiro-nusi sent to this world eat the filled soul with the contradictions by choice. Kageura says it has to use the certain two means to resist the vengeful god in question. It is the untying oneself out of the vicious circle in between one's lust for powers and the hatred against the powers. And, another is the realizing the powers are the means to do the social works. Kageura says. "Well, my reasoning is like that at the moment. But, I can't feel satisfactory about this reasoning strangely. I may be overlooking the important problems of something.". Anyhow, he also had thought it needs the deeper reasoning about this problem as well.
			Miyagi, while returning to his apartment, was recollecting Kageura's reasoning and thinking about it. It is said ordinarily the reason the vengeful god appear is the unsuitable manner of the worship or prayer. For example, according to Kojiki, in the reign of Emperor Sujin, god Oomono-nusi in Mt. Miwa became the vengeful god and scattered the horrible disease to all areas of the country. Thereupon, the Emperor selected the person named Ootataneko from the Izumo people worshipping the god in question, and made him pray for Oomono-nusi. So, it is said the god stopped the curse. However, Cotosiro-nusi isn't the vengeful god so simple. In other words, Cotosiro-nusi thought to use the historical irony Kageura states. So, it is that he had to seal his curse until the present when the Japanesque rationalism has come to be together with the soul of Jomon into all people's mind. But, by any chance, Cotosiro-nusi may have been ready to tear that seal when Japan was in the Sino and Japanese war.
	It is because Japanese society in those days had been ruled by the Japanesque rationalism especially strongly. And, the social condition like that made Japan rush into the Second World War and oppressed the soul of Jomon increasingly. Though it looked to have become the free society temporarily at the Taisho era, it seems it was only superficial phenomenon. (In passing, the Taisho era roughly is between the Sino and Japanese war and the Second World War). Probably, Cotosiro-nusi sent the detestable insects in question to this world in some period like that. However, ironically Cotosiro-nusi couldn't carry out one's plan well because of the condition Japan was defeated at the Second World War. It is because the social circumstances like that weakened the Japanesque rationalism and revived the soul of Jomon temporarily.
	Since then, about fourty years passed. The society of Japan looks to have succeeded economically remarkably. So, the people looked to have gotten the freedom apparently. But, it notices it is only the superficial change if it observes the present condition of Japan. Nothing is better evidence of the thing than the fact the individuals can't take back one's dignity even now. Unfortunately, the economical success of Japan only made the certain people rich and haughty, without contributing to the culture and the soul. If such a social condition is kept for long, doesn't Japan fall into the terrible confusion? Or, Cotosiro-nusi's appearance may be the start of the confusion like that. "Is it possible the souls of Japanese people survive really?". If Kageura's reasoning is proper, it seems Cotosiro-nusi's appearance is the expression of the more huge waves than one's image. Now that the detestable insects Cotosiro-nusi sent to this world are flying here and there, it was obvious the poor soul gets rotten by the vicious maggots.
