To old edition.		Evolution and a civilization.
	What kind of thing would civilization be ? If it reads the first of the item of "civilization" in Koujien(Japanese language dictionary), there is the explanation that the human knowledge at the society is clear because of the widely spreading education. In this, it may be possible to perceive vaguely the outline of civilization for the moment. But, it is difficult to understand civilization in only such a explanation so clearly. Probably, it would be because the objective standard and the concrete concept isn't so clear. In that reason, the Koujien states the concrete explanation as follows after the above explanation. "The word of "civilization" expresses the certain social state, that is, the state of society of the period when the excellent convenience is kept for long by the continuous use of the machines or other." (It was summarized short because the actual explanation is very long.). And, as for a culture, it is explained by the following two conceptualization meaning the culture and civilization of narrow sense. "A mental culture is defined as culture. And, a material culture is defined as civilization.". However, it needs the more structural concepts for the following reasoning. Thereupon, the conception of civilization is defined in the next method.        1. The enumeration of the communities seen on the history.        2. The extracting from those the communities which were once recognized as a civilization.        3. And, the extracted communities like that are compared with other communities. So, the characteristics of a civilization found out with the above method are in the definite specialization and its systems as follows. 1, The existence of the definite politics system. The existence of the bureaucracy to practice the national will. The existence of the military strength assuring the function the powers have. 2, The existence of each organization to be concerned with the life base. That is, the farming, industry, trade, communication, distribution, etc. 3, The existence of the specialist groups supporting the above specialization systems. And, it is said that the above specialist groups roughly are classed to the next 3 field, that is, it is a mental field, a scientific field, a technological field. In passing, the nucleus of the military strength roughly is the armed forces. Furthermore, the sword like that the powers have is turned to the inside of the community at the certain situation as a time though it should be originally turned to the foreign invaders. Now, the culture to be defined here is the mental footing supporting the above division of labor. Furthermore, there is the theoretical footing born of the certain tenet or mental atmosphere to the undercurrent of mental footing generally. And, the mental footing like that is classed as the next items, that is, it is religion, various learning and the various technology supported by the learning or other, and a guiding principle, the life custom, etc. (The guiding principle often overlaps with the religion.). Then, at the community, those mental footings materialize with the concrete forms. That is, it is a politics system, an economic system, the fine arts, a life-style, a style of architecture, and so on. Furthermore, the concrete forms and efficiency of the machines and tools and so on also are the appearance of culture as well. In passing, the concrete form like that is for example, its kind, its shape, its performance etc. In other words, it is said the whole of the appearance of culture like that is civilization in the so-called narrow sense. Though this is the figure of speech, if it likens a culture to a painter's mind and technological ability, and so on, it can think civilization is the painter's works, that is, the expression of painter's mind. Therefore, it can't assert that a culture necessarily bears a civilization. Anyhow, the future reasoning about civilization and culture is based on the above conceptions. By the way, if the inherent factor producing a civilization is considered biologically, how would we have to understand of what kind of thing is that ? First of all, it has to think about the division of labor. If the division of labor doesn't occur, above specialized system can't exist. And, it means the concrete forms in the civilization don't exist. It is natural that the civilization can't exist under the situation like that. It isn't allowed the division of labor lacks for a civilization. Therefore even if it says that the examining of the civilization is almost the examining of the division of labor, it never be exaggeration. If so, why would specialization occur ? It seems that it can find out the reason easily. As you see, it seems that it is because the community craves the smooth and efficient management for the various social activities. And, the craving like that grows especially in the community possessing the fertile land or in the community maintaining the favorable economic conditions. It, needless to say, is because the high level division of labor is necessary especially in the society like that. So, the primary factors to bring the craving like that are the following pressures. 1, The increase in kinds of the job and the increase in the amount of work which occur in the inside of the community. 2, The various ill effect from the uncontrolled conditions often occurring among the community members. 3, A natural menace. 4, The situation that other communities are adjoined to the said community. This situation urges each community to do various competition. In passing, the word of "adjoined" in this case includes not only geographic meaning but also the economical meaning and the psychological meaning. In other words, if the community isn't managed efficiently and smoothly, the above pressures don't permit the community to exist. Therefore, the community like that is forced to do the smooth and efficient management about all the organizations. In that reason, the specialization and division of labor grow. Therefore, it can think that the civilization is a kind of organism brought by the growth like that. If it thinks at least from the viewpoint of creature's logic, it reaches the conclusion like that. Thereupon, visualize the situation where amebas form the spores, with comparing it to the characteristic of civilization. It is because it seems that the formation of the spores has the same characteristic as the birth of the civilization. And it seems that the characteristic like that is fundamentally based on the defense reaction of both a organism and a society. The community and ameba group and so on strongly control each individual's desire and ability if they fall into the crisis or meet the various pressures. Furthermore, the individuals are organized to compose the various organs or organization. In this case, as it thought before, it is possible to say the community and so on got reborn as the huge organism with organizing the individuals more efficiently. And, the inherent factor for this is the instinct of species-preservation, is the craving for the preservation of the genetic information, if it is seen from the viewpoint of the sauce. By any chance, it may be that this inherent factor was born of the craving of someone for the perception. It is because evolution of creature and civilization bring the certain kind of wisdom for the certain persons though it is certain it brings the certain kind of degeneration for the certain people. Anyhow, the community called a civilization is really one creature. Even if it thinks it is a huge mushroom, it would never be a mistake. Therefore, if an internal and external environment becomes gentle, there may be possibility that the community loses the centripetal force. And, if so, each individual may behave almost with the individual's logic as if the spores are sown to the ground, bursting. However, it seems that our civilization is intending to make his organization the more precise system if it sees the present circumstances. And, if so, since it seems that the human being is organized as one organ of the community all the more, it seems that the individuals' independence and humanity are lost increasingly. However, it can say that the cerebral new cortex of mankind is developing remarkably if it is compared to other creature. Therefore, we have the clear ego. In other words, it seems to be impossible that a human being become an organ completely. And, if so, how long and in which extent would a human brain be able to keep holding the patience against the civilization's request that he should be such a organ ? Or else, would it be that the human not having the patience about the requests like that dies out ? If so, it may be that only the human able to live as an organ can survive. If Darwin's theory is proper and if the civilization is born by the irreversible change of a community and furthermore civilization continues for long, each individual would be changed to the creature like that probably. In other words, new species would be created by the individual selection. However, would it be really so ? If it considers the mentioned equation in the fourth knot, it seems that evolution occurs when the vector of the change indicates the direction of evolution. In passing, if it thinks of the spaces to express for evolution, it seems there are the same area and the same time and the community of the same species and the mixture community of the different species, and so on. Then, the spaces like that function as the axis of aspect of actual evolution at the equation of evolution. And, it once more needs to rethink about the individual selection of Darwin's theory because the border in between a concept of individual and colony is unclear. Furthermore, even if it accepts the idea of "individual selection" in some way, it seems that it should be adopted as one factor at only the first period of evolution when creature world is in the confused situation. Anyhow, human being never be a ant. We have excellent brain if it is compared with other organism. In that reason, it can't assert there isn't possibility the circumstances like that decide the direction of evolution. By any chance, human brain may do evolution like a storage element, and so on of computer, going toward specialization if civilization continues for long considerably. Or else, a human may do evolution as a independent individual, while keeping one's logic and civilization. By any chance, it may be we can choose either direction of evolution. Anyhow, if civilization doesn't see one's end, evolution of us would go to either direction. By the way, there is one thing that it has to say about the vagueness of the border of a colony and a individual. It is about our consciousness we have about oneself and society. Needless to say, a community's recognition isn't a individual's recognition. However, the individual's recognition is influenced by the community's recognition before it gets aware of the thing. In other words, even at our consciousness, it is that it is difficult to decide the border between a community and a one's self. Now, it returns the reasoning to evolution of human brain. As a matter of fact, it seems that the former possibility is weak if it considers the history of evolution of the brain. It is because it seems that it contradicts the history like that that an brain with the excellent logic ability hasn't the definite ego. Furthermore, it is because it seems that the specialization of the brain entails the degeneration of the brain. In passing, the problem of human specialization also is applied to the reversible ability of the brain as well. And, this is very serious problem if it considers the present social conditions. The degeneration of the brain(discreet mind) destroys the civilization and the culture. It is because the discreet brains always are necessary for the civilization. As it stated in former knot, it is very difficult that the mere organs, that is, the parts of living body think and solve the problem of the whole. Therefore, at least the genetic factor and the creature's logic wouldn't choose the degeneration like that if it is under the condition the human being doesn't disturb the harmony of the lives activity about the whole of the creature. It is because obviously it is unfavorable for the lives activities of mankind. Therefore, the genetic factor or the creature's logic makes the civilization finished probably if the dangerous sign appears for the lives activity. And, the individuals are returned to the nature. The purpose is the preservation of the creature world, or is the preservation of the flexible brain able to support next civilization. However, this aspect looks to be different a little from the burst of the spores. It doesn't seem that the human being like that has the preparation for the environment changed violently. It is because it is to be accustomed to the too high-grade civilization. It seems that it is considerably difficult they survive. Even if there are people who survived, it is certain that they aren't people who enjoyed civilization. They would need long long time to construct civilization. Therefore, if civilization makes mankind do evolution, it makes the mankind do evolution in the direction which maintains their individual independence. But, in this case, it probably needs the condition that the human being doesn't disturb the harmony of the creature world. If not, it can't assert that the dangerous situation, that is, the degeneration of the brain doesn't occur.
